On Sunday, December 16, 2007, the short film “Lustig” premiered at the Byrd Theatre in Richmond, Virginia. Over 400 attendees filled the theater to see the16-minute film directed by John Francis Black II and produced by Ruben Flores Rios II. “Lustig”, based on the experiences of Oscar winner and produer Branko Lustig during the Holocaust, is a touching story of survival and redemption. Scott Carter stars as a traveler who comes to the house of a boy, played by Eric Evans, to unburden himself of a terrible secret. Ilka W. Fischer and Jeff Wincott also star.

In attendance for the screening were two Holocaust survivors. The survivors received a standing ovation from the emotional audience. The cast and crew participated in a lengthy question and answer session after the screening.
